Creating a timer

AFTER EFFECTS: HOW TO CREATE A TIMER WITH A REGULAR EXPRESSION?

Hi all! Today we’ll learn how to create a timer using a regular expression in After Effects. Yes, you can use plugins and stuff, but why? 😉 In fact, everything is very, very simple:

To do this, you will need five steps:
1. Create a new composition in which you need to use a timer
2. Create a new text layer
3. Hold down the “Alt” key and click on the clock in the properties of the text sources layer:

4. Insert the regular expression:

st = 60;
t = st - time;
c = timeToTimecode(t);
c = c.substring(6,24)

Rejoice 🙂
